mathieu dagorn hat vor seinem kunststudium an der ecole supérieure
des beaux-arts de marseille biochemie studiert und mehrere jahre
in einem labor der angewandten biochemischen grundlagenforschung
gearbeitet. die auseinandersetzung mit biochemischen prozessen
sowie die methoden und verfahrenstechniken im labor beeinflussen
seine künstlerische arbeit bis heute.
seit 2005 lebt und arbeitet mathieu dagorn in berlin und stellt
in
deutschland, frankreich, spanien und den niederlanden aus. unter
dem titel 'anamorphoses' fand 2009 zudem eine einzelausstellung
im sporobole, centre en art actuel in sherbrooke (kanada) statt.
seit 2006 ist mathieu dagorn künstlerischer leiter der
temporären
projekträume von adhoc.slash-tmp.

mathieu dagorn has studied biochemistry and worked in a laboratory
of applied biochemical fundamental research before studying
fine
arts at the ecole supérieure des beaux-arts de marseille.
the use of biochemical processes, as well as the methods and
technologies of the biochemical laboratory have still an important
impact on his artistic work.
since 2005 mathieu dagorn lives and works in berlin and exhibits
in germany, france, spain and the netherlands. in 2009 he also
had
the solo exhibition 'anamorphoses' in sporobole, centre en art
actuel in sherbrooke (canada).
since 2006 is mathieu dagorn the artistic director of slash-tmp,
temporary art- and projectspaces of adhoc.slash-tmp.

kati gausmanns plastische arbeit beginnt im textilen - im
textilen material, seinen techniken, seinen sozialen und
psychologischen funktionen. ihre künstlerische vorgehensweise
ist prozessorientiert. sowohl in den zeichnungen als auch den
objekten und aktionen folgt sie handlungsanweisungen, die aus
ihrer jeweiligen fragestellung entstehen: nach der dimen-
sionalität von flächen, nach dem zusammenhang von
kleidung,
körper und identität, nach den sozialisierten rhythmen,
in die
kleidungsformen menschen leiblich einbinden und nach bewegung,
rhythmus und handlung als formgebendem prinzip. bewegung formt
- und je nach material entsteht die form, manchmal flüchtig
in
der handlung oder als fixierte spur: ein haufen kleider, ein
gewirk, eine zeichnung. ausdehnungen im raum oder auf der
fläche, in denen bewegungen und rhythmen ablesbar bleiben.

kati gausmanns sculptural work begins with the textile - with
textile material, techniques of working it, and its social and
psychological functions. her artistic method is oriented on
processes. when drawing, but also in her objects and actions
she
follows instructions for behaviour, which develop from each
question she raises: about the dimensionality of flat areas,
the
links between clothing, body and identity, the socialised
rhythms into which people are physically bound by forms of
clothing, and about movement, rhythm and activity as a form-
creating principle. movement forms - and the form emerges
according to the material, sometimes fleetingly during an action
or as a fixed trace: a heap of clothes, a fabric, a drawing.
expansions in space or across a flat surface in which movements
and rhythms remain legible.

michael hoepfel beschäftigt sich mit dem spannungsfeld
zwischen
zeichen und körper, realem und imaginärem raum sowie
dem
wissenschaftlichen blick auf die welt. seine arbeiten zeichnen
sich großteils durch einen experimentellen umgang mit
digitalen
medien aus, die bisweilen eng mit analogen verfahren verknüpft
werden. so entstehen filme, animationen, installationen, bilder
und objekte oder auch interaktive arbeiten. noch vor seinem
abschluß an der hfg offenbach 1999 gründete er mit
freunden das
medienlabor meso in frankfurt/m, stellte seitdem in deutschland,
österreich, der schweiz, den niederlanden, griechenland,
ungarn,
bulgarien und den usa aus, hielt verschiedene vorträge
und lehrte
2009/10 an der kunsthochschule weissensee. ab 2004 entstanden
viele arbeiten in kooperation mit jenny michel.

michael hoepfel works on the contradictions of sign and body,
real and imaginary spaces and the scientific view on the world.
his experimental handling of digital media is characteristic
for most of his works. often they get combined with analogue
procedures to create movies, animations, installations, images,
objects or interactive works. before his degree at hfg
offenbach he founded with friends the media laboratory meso
in
frankfurt/m, since then exhibited in germany, austria,
switzerland, the netherlands, greece, hungary, bulgaria and
the
usa, gave several lectures and teached in 2009/10 at kunsthoch-
schule weissensee 'computer aided fashion design'. since 2004
many works were developed in cooperation with jenny michel.

sébastien pesot completed a bachelor’s degree in
art history
at the université de montréal in 1996 and a master’s
degree at
the école des arts visuels de montréal (uqam),
in 2000. he
presently resides in the eastern townships, where he teaches
at the université de sherbrooke. after a decade as a
drummer
in various punk rock bands, pesot produced several
experimental videos which have been screened in twenty
different countries at festivals and events including the 3rd,
4th and 5th manifestation internationale vidéo et art
électronique (montreal), fifa (montreal), wro 01 and
03, the
media arts biennial (poland) and chroma (mexico), where he was
the recipient of the audience award for best video. since then
he has mainly been producing audio-video installations, while
continuing to work on performance art and computer graphics.
his solo work has been featured at slash-tmp in berlin (2010),
au lieu in quebec city (2009) and the côte-des-neiges
cultural
center in montreal (2008).
his artistic approach has evolved immensely over the last few
years and the present computer graphics project represents a
critical stage in this transformation. in his early work, he
was mostly concerned with the plasticity of the video graphic
image, the possibilities of deconstruction and reconstruction
of the video image. his interest lay in an abstraction and
formalism similar to that found in painting, together with a
certain level of social commitment. his work in video
installations and as a musical and performing artist has led
him to move beyond the framework of the screen. he began to
explore two new approaches in his creative work: an interest
in performance and self-representation, and the extension of
his video creations throughout physical space. this interest
in the material and corporal aspects of his work led
inevitably to the desire to extract the image from the screen
and re-inject it into the material world, thereby initiating
certain relationships between the virtual image and the
physical environment.
