archiv: île en chantier (insel baustelle)stephanie chauvat gastrosophic dessert . performance der nachtisch als kunstwerk monday 28th april 08 . 6pm after several experiences in restaurants as a cooker and as an artist anyway a major theme of my artistic work is food, perishable eatables - affected by the culinary art and gastrosophie from the 'eat art' of daniel spoerri in the 1960´s to the ephemeral sculp- tures of michel blazy in the beginning of 21th century. i use culinary codes in art to create a poetic universe. île en chantier (insel baustelle) for this finissage i´ve made an installation, which will be eaten by the audience and the artists, who had participated in the exhibition 'cluster'. origi- nally this french dessert is called 'île flottante' (floating island), with snow-white eggs and custard ( english cream). i´ve added red fruits and sculpt the white eggs to create a voluminous barrier tape, refering to 'construction zone' as a topic of this exhibition. the act of eating, the meal itself is the performance, which will conclude the art exhibition . stéphanie chauvat [stephchauvat@gmail.com] -> fotos der soupe populaire |
